APPLEGARTH SCHOOL CENTENARY - June 8th 2009 The children of Appplegarth School have been delighted by the reponses from past pupils and others with connection with our school If you have worked at school or been a pupil we would still love to hear from you. We now have a super display of old photographs and read your tales of school life in the past. Thank you to all those who have already contributed and visited the school. We welcomed John Bell the architect of our new extension (currently under construction) who told tales of his days as a pupil at Applegarth School and how his efforts and led him to becoming an architect. Dr Richard James joined us in a 'Believe to Achieve' assembly after also being a pupil at the school - he was overwhelmed by the questions after the children had listened to him talk about his time at Applegarth and his career. Year 6 pupils had a history lesson by Mr Pidd who taught at the school during the 1970's, sharing his love of lcal history with the children. In our Birthday Celebration the children were delighted to see the return of Mr. Proctor and Mr. Ashby former heads of the school. Our Family Fun Day and celebration were very successful events and enjoyed by all who attended. Watch this space for photographs of the events.
