Home Learning

At Applegarth, we ensure that pupils can continue learning when they need to work from home due to illness (when well enough), medical needs or other short‑term circumstances. Our home‑learning offer provides continuity, clarity and high‑quality learning experiences that align with our curriculum.

Our approach:

  • Follows our curriculum so pupils continue to build knowledge and skills in a well‑sequenced way.
  • Uses consistent online platforms, including Dojo, to share learning, model tasks and provide feedback.
  • Provides high‑quality resources both online and in printed form where needed.
  • Supports younger pupils and those with SEND through accessible tasks and close partnership with families.
  • Monitors progress remotely so teachers can respond to pupils’ needs and adjust teaching accordingly.

Our home‑learning provision is shaped by pupils’ age, development and individual needs. It is informed by educational research and designed to ensure that learning remains ambitious, engaging and inclusive—wherever pupils are learning.

What can I do if my child does not have digital or online access home?

We recognise that some pupils may not have suitable online access at home. If you have any issues with online or device access at home, please email: admin@applegarth.n-yorks.sch.uk. Please outline your issues and a member of our welfare team will get in touch with you to provide support.

Suggested Daily Timetables

We know and understand how important it is for you and your child to have a sense of routine and normality when learning at home. Some children like to see their timetable with visual representations of the day.
